almost Friday - good day of completion 01/19/2012
Almost Friday's are Thursdays - probably my favorite days are times because Friday follows next. Completing some projects today that were difficult for awhile but through team work I was able to complete and end in making things better for the users. I am a communicator - always have been and will continue to be. It's not about me, if I need help I will ask. I don't have to be the spotlight, the limelight of what is going on. I have nothing to prove to be number one. Team player, team work count me in - I am there. At lunch I went to see the newest member of our family, Adam & Randa's son Ridgley. He's a great and amaZing little guy with MUCH love coming at him. My twin sister brought hamburgers and fries for us at the hospital. It was a good time of talking and laughing among family. Came home and watched American Idol, our family likes to watch this show. We like to listen to the raw talent of the people chasing their dreams across the nation. Kellie went to go Greenwood to go help a local company with their accounting. She has been helping this company for a few years. Kellie picked up supper from Arby's. I met Kellie at the Sugar Shack off of Hwy 71 and she gave me my order from Arby's as she went on to see her Dad. Bob, Kellie's Dad was moved to HealthSouth Rehab hospital. Kellie finally got home around 9:00 p.m. and we watched Idol together. one big Wednesday 01/18/2012
Big day & night overall. Tough day in field support - sometimes its just like that. In my field of expertise there is a lot variables of resolving the root of problem issues of computer hardware and software. I work with a great team in the field support area. I did not have much to eat today for lunch today - big mistake. Around 4:00 p.m. my blood sugar was dropping so I headed to the vending machine for a Three Muskateers bar. It helped after awhile - won't make that lunch mistake again. Left work and went to 180 Remix to my Wednesday night ministry duty. It was a great night of worship as Jon Morris came back t o lead worship for the HS/CC service. Jon has a unique anointing to lead student and adults in the presence of God. Worship was amaZing and aWesome as students entered into a Holy place of worship before God. Adam and Randa had their beautiful baby boy today - Ridgley, 9 lbs 8 ounces, 22" tall. Gosh - this boy is almost as tall as me. My twin sister Kelley is excited. She made Grandma before I made Grandpa. That's Ok - that makes me feel younger. the drive continues... 01/18/2012
Tuesday - Riding to win the drive of this new year. Riding for 3o minute intervals at a time. In this weight loss campaign of mine, the pain has to be endured to pursue the plan I have purposed before me. The worth of it if I can say that is my desire. Ready for the change that is going to come - a change is gonna come. We have our fitness bike positioned to be able to our big flat panel TV. Recently I have listening to tunes on Spotify on my Macbook. Tonight I am listening to Switchfoot. Great Christian band with incredible music ability and aWesome lyrics. Rode for 30 minutes for 7.5 miles. Monday - biweekly day off 01/16/2012
I am off work every other Monday. At DTC we work flex hours, working 9 hours a day for 9 days and then we are off the 10th day. I love it and call it Bonus coverage. Kortni had a pair of shoes and boots that needed to have the heel tips replaced. I took these to the local shoe repair place for repair. The shoe repair shop called later in the afternoon and said the shoes and boots were ready. Now - that is customer service, same day service. I also picked up a replacement cable converter from Cox. Our second cable convertor box went out from a recent temporary power outage. Kellie had to go to the hospital after work because her Dad had not been eating his meals. Kellie sent me a text earlier and said it look like her dad was going downhill a little. Kellie is a great daughter and she is taking care of her daddy. I check my company e-mail periodically on my iPhone when I am off work. I replied to some e-mails that needed my attention and worked on one project for a Regional Vice President. Sunday - it's a HUGE day of KG moving 01/16/2012
Project for the day - move KG into her new dorm room at the U of A. We slept in and Kellie woke up first as always and made us family breakfast. I had 2 eggs, thick slab bacon and toast. I put grape jelly on my eggs and it makes them green - its fun. It taste good and will take you to a happy place. We arrived at Kortni's dorm in the afternoon around 2:30 p.m. We left to come home around 9:00 p.m. It was a bigger project than we thought it was going to be. WOW! - that girl has some stuff. From the 9th floor to the 2nd floor, sometimes using the elevator and sometimes the stairs. We also helped the room mate that was moving out of Kortni's new dorm room. In the early evening a couple of Kortni's guy friends showed up and we took them to dinner with us. We went to Chili's and had a great time and a whole lot of laughs. Kortni has made some good friends and created some good relationships during her first semester of college. Kortni is excited about her new room mate. Saturday - NFL playoff games & more... 01/14/2012
I went to bed early on Friday night around 8:30 p.m. It was a rare day on Friday waking up with a "frog" in my throat and sneezing more than I should be sneezing. I have found in the past that in order to overcome something that is bothering me physically I get extra rest. Feeling better this Saturday morning. Somebody shout out - "Glory!". Kellie left the house around 8:30 a.m. to go the hospital to spend the day with her Dad. Bob (Kellie's Dad aka "Big Chief Full of Bull") is still recovering from gall bladder surgery. Kellie's other two sisters have been taking turns spending the day with Bob at the hospital. I have been washing towels - pretty good at this. Also washed dishes - why do I like washing dishes, why? Excited about watching the NFL Divisional Playoff games today. The 1st game - Saints vs 49ers, 2nd game - Broncos vs Patriots. Going Saints & Broncos. Drew Brees & Tim Tebow playing on the same day there's only one word for that - HALLELUJAH! Really have enjoyed the excitement that Tebowing has brought to the attention of our Nation. Tebow's Christian example is causing a stir on ESPN, all the national TV networks & world. It's a great time for the Believer. Tebow mania is alive in well & it's fun stuff. 1st game update - Saints lose a heartbreaker game. 49ers defense stepped up and the DB's played well against Drew Brees passing attack. 2nd game update - Broncos led by Tim Tebow were mismatched against the Patriots. I turned this game off at halftime and switched to the Razorback basketball game. Hogs won at home as they played LSU. Friday's word... week 2 01/12/2012
Psalm 3 NIV 4 I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. 7 Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. 8 From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. Friday's word... week 1 01/12/2012
Going on 9 years (this year) I have sent a weekly e-mail to many of my friends. The subject title of the e-mail is - Friday's word. I sent this e-mail every Friday morning. It's only scripture text from the Word of God. No comments added from me - can you believe it. Proverbs 2 NIV 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, 8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. 9 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair-every good path. 10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. riding the sound waves 01/12/2012
Tonight I setup my Macbook on a wooden snack tray so I could listen to Spotify (www.Spotify.com) while I rode my fitness bike, I love(s) me some Spotify. Never listened to Spotify? Backed off the pace tonight - pretty tired today from work. almost Friday day - shivery me timbers 01/12/2012
Winter cold blast today - cool temps with a strong artic blast wind. Good day of field tech support. I love the feeling of resolving people's computer problem issues. Thankful for the career God has given to me to that allows me to use my 24 years of computer experience. My fellow team member James and I had lunch with a couple of branch managers from Louisiana today. That's a neat bonus & a cool blessing for me. James was going to make a point with an illustration and said - "Kirk, if someone took your keys and said Hey your truck is not starting, What would you say, Kirk? I answered - "Hey, that's not my truck." We laughed on that one. Gosh - it was a funny moment. | it's me - KirkLove people - love to help people - love to make things better for people. Love my friends - love encouraging them - love communicating with them. past blogsFebruary 2012 MUCH stuffAll |
