Valentine's week was huge 02/17/2012
This was my flex week so I was off work on Monday. It was a great day to be off since it snowed somewhere from 1" - 3" inches of snow - it was aWesome and beautiful. I love to watch our little pet doggie - Kujo play and run around in the snow. Kellie also stayed home since the roads were snow covered with some icy patches. After lunch time I decided I was was going hiking behind our house and climb the hill to the the top to capture some good snow pics. Growing up as a kid it brought back a lot of memories as we used to climb the hill all the time and explore. The terrain always changes so MUCH when it snows and a beautiful white blanket is applied to the landscape. Valentine' Day was officially Tuesday. It's tax season so Kellie is once again working after hours for her friend Renea doing income taxes. Kellie was not coming home until after 8:00p.m. I placed red candles around the house to create a nice atmosphere in our home. I also cooked for Kellie, I made chili. It was cold this day so it was perfect for the night. I realized on my home from work that this was going to be my first time in 18 years that I have not seen our beautiful daughter Kortni on Valentine's Day. So I had an idea and I sent a text to Kortni and she sent me a pic of herself. Yes! - I was so happy, I did get to see Kortni on Valentine's Day. Kellie bought some Valentine's Day stuff for Kortni & Morgan (college room mate) & her male friend - Shawn. Tonight (Friday) Kellie made chocolate covered strawberries for all of them plus baked a small brownie cake for them. We are going to take these to Kortni and her friends on Saturday since we are going to the RaZorback basketball game. Monday - after a Giant weekend 02/06/2012
It was a Giant(s) as the NY Giants upset the Brady's Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. I love it when Brady & Belichick lose - it makes me happy. So far they show very little character in their approach to leadership & their actions. I am just a big believer of integrity and character of people. Our words are containers, listen to these men and you will see what they contain. I have never been afraid to be honest. I took our little doggie (Kujo) to get groomed on Saturday morning. The only appt. I could get was 8am, do I have love for that little doggie or what? I brought my camera with me and went camera hunting. I had already taken several pics in the area where the dog groomer is located, in a rural area in Greenwood. I was driving around and found a roadside waterfall that turned out really great. Left the 'Ridge this morning @ 5:20 a.m. this morning for a road trip to OKC (actually Edmond). This trip consists of staying with our lifelong friends Preston and Karla Smith. I arrived at their home @ 8:30 a.m. Preston was making breakfast when I walked in. On the menu was - eggs, bacon and biscuits and fresh brewed coffee. We all left the house and went running around OKC. We stopped at Lake Hefner to do some photography shooting. There were several seagulls in the water and flying around. Then we headed to Arcadia to see the a round barn. It 's was really unique and it was built in the early 1900's. The original Route 66 runs through Arcadia. Also in this small town is a store called Pops located on Route 66. Check out the website for this unique store - http://route66.com/ This is a really cool and interesting store with modern gas pumps located in front. This store have over 600 varieties of soda pop. Check out the following pics of the store. The store has an unusual design. The structure of the bottle is 66' high. Happy Friday - ends well 01/27/2012
Happy Friday - always the greatest day ever placed at the end of the week. Another day of rolling out new computers to the sales forces scattered across the USA at the ABF terminals. Plus the normal computer problem issue troubleshooting of users in the the field that I support. I had lunch with one of my team members in field support. We went to Diamond Head - we are talking serious Asian food people with no buffet. It's the real deal - you wanna go to a happy place , go to lunch here and soon people. Kellie sent me a text this afternoon and told me she was going to pick me up after work and we were going to Rivertowne BBQ in Ozark. Yes! - we are talking great supper on Happy Friday. Here are some pics of our incredible feast tonight. Calorie Warning Alert! almost Friday - about time 01/26/2012
Huge is the word for this work week. Gosh - its been a big 'un this week as the field support load has intensified with the ABF terminals receiving new replacement computers. I finished part of a project tonight at a California terminal after I came home tonight. Kellie cooked some batter-less fresh fish & hush puppies tonight - it was another job well done by my Kellie. Rode the fitness bike for 7.5 miles in 30 minutes. It's hard for me to ride for more than 30 minutes - my calves feel like they are going to charley horse any minute. Careful Kirk - don't over do it, Ok. Been watching the Winter X Games tonight - Kellie & I like it , we love most all sports. I prepared my Friday's word e-mails tonight to send out on Friday morning. I have been doing this every Friday for 8 years. It's just my little ministry that I like to do, to share the Word of God with my good friends. You can always read Friday's word in the category simply labeled - Friday's Word listed under MUCH stuff. I am writing this blog post tonight as I listen to Spotify's free music streaming - I love doing this. Listening now to Ashley Cleveland - love Ashley - love Ashley. She has been around awhile and has a raspy blues style sound. Last song to listen tonight is - God don't never change. Get ready it will mess you up and take you to a happy place. Ok, I confess I had to listed to one more song - Higher Ground. An old song made famous by The Blind Boys of Alabama. Monday - the week begins 01/23/2012
Monday was defined today as one of my Field support team members would say - Rapid Fire Support! Service tickets just kept coming in for my region terminals. Wow - it was a busy day. I took a few minutes at lunch and walked to Subway for a Cold Cut combo on flat bread (love this). I then took a pair of Kortni's boots to the shoe repair shop to get her heels repaired. I took a pair of shoes and boots a couple of weeks ago. Gosh - that girl puts those shoes and boots to use. Kellie went to see her Dad at the Rehab hospital after work. I came home and started making "sketti". I loves me some spaghetti. Kellie came home and made her some turkey meat stuff with lots of veggies. Not for me - no way - no how. As a appetizer Kellie had a cutie (small variety orange) and I had some fig newtons (White Label variety) - I love me some fig newtons. Kellie and I like watching the Food Network. Tonight we watched a show about Heat Seekers. It was about restaurants that serve extremely hot foods. It was funny watching them eat hot foods as they were sweating and drinks lots of water. Starting going up the 'Hill to the Big game - Arkansas vs Michigan - by stopping at McD's for breakfast. You just can't beat picking up McD's on the way for a road tip. It was a beautiful "nippy" brisk morning and mu This pic shows the pre-game shoot around at the game. It's always an exciting feeling to be at a Razorback basketball game. Kortni was at the game and of course sitting in the student section. She sent me a text before the game and asked me if we had any cash. I said Yes and Kortni said she would meet me at halftime. That's funny stuff to me - KG is cute, I love my buddy. Kellie ordered the tickets for the game and we picked them up at the will-call table just inside the arena. We sat in Section 206, Row 6, Seats 115 and 116. These seats are next to the section aisle coming into Section 206. There are only two seats next to each other. It's really kinda cool. Each fan was given a free mini banner when we walked in. It's pretty neat - gonna take mine to work and put it in my cube. This pic shows the time of the start of the game when the Razorback players are introduced. The crowd was Huge (19,050) - only a few hundred shy of complete attendance. I was texting Ed Anderson on the way to the game. Ed and Donna were also going to the game. They were one section away from us and we stopped to talk to them before going to our seats. They are great people and good friends. We should all have good friends that are part of our lives. We had a Michigan fan sitting behind us. He was yelling for his team during the game and of course annoying me. I brought up my cheering level for the Hogs since he was cheering for Michigan. It actually turned out that he was from Ft. Smith and was a Hog fan born in Michigan. So happy the Hogs and his team lost. Yes! This pic is showing the Razorback football team that a few weeks ago won the Cotton Bowl. It was a cool moment and the fans were super loud as we yelled for our team. They also brought in the Cotton Bowl trophy. Tyler Wilson was awarded the MVP of the Cotton Bowl game. Tyler has made us Greenwood Bulldog fans very proud. I met Kortni at halftime and gave her some cash. Also met a sorority sister of Kortni, Robyn. It's easy for Kortni to meet friends and she has some great ones. This pic shows victory for the Arkansas Razorbacks against the Michigan Wolverines. It was a great game for a Razorback fan to watch. The Hogs shot 65% for the 1st half of the game. The crowd noise was unbelievable. It was a fun time for Kellie and I to watch at the game. The game started slipping away from the Razorbacks during the 2nd half but Coach Anderson did a great job with the team to pull of the win. The Razorbacks are now 14-0 this season at home. This is a pic of the Razorback crowd leaving after celebrating another great win by their team. We left the game and went to go eat with Ed and Donna at Famous Dave's in Rogers. Kortni and Robyn rode with us to eat. Another couple from church that was also at the the game, Mark and Jody met us at Famous Dave's. Kellie and I talked about how great a day we had seeing Kortni before the game, being at the game and watching the Hogs win, having Kortni and her friend Robyn go to eat us with us, eating with Ed and Donna and Mark and Jody. Good days are always great days. almost Friday - good day of completion 01/19/2012
Almost Friday's are Thursdays - probably my favorite days are times because Friday follows next. Completing some projects today that were difficult for awhile but through team work I was able to complete and end in making things better for the users. I am a communicator - always have been and will continue to be. It's not about me, if I need help I will ask. I don't have to be the spotlight, the limelight of what is going on. I have nothing to prove to be number one. Team player, team work count me in - I am there. At lunch I went to see the newest member of our family, Adam & Randa's son Ridgley. He's a great and amaZing little guy with MUCH love coming at him. My twin sister brought hamburgers and fries for us at the hospital. It was a good time of talking and laughing among family. Came home and watched American Idol, our family likes to watch this show. We like to listen to the raw talent of the people chasing their dreams across the nation. Kellie went to go Greenwood to go help a local company with their accounting. She has been helping this company for a few years. Kellie picked up supper from Arby's. I met Kellie at the Sugar Shack off of Hwy 71 and she gave me my order from Arby's as she went on to see her Dad. Bob, Kellie's Dad was moved to HealthSouth Rehab hospital. Kellie finally got home around 9:00 p.m. and we watched Idol together. one big Wednesday 01/18/2012
Big day & night overall. Tough day in field support - sometimes its just like that. In my field of expertise there is a lot variables of resolving the root of problem issues of computer hardware and software. I work with a great team in the field support area. I did not have much to eat today for lunch today - big mistake. Around 4:00 p.m. my blood sugar was dropping so I headed to the vending machine for a Three Muskateers bar. It helped after awhile - won't make that lunch mistake again. Left work and went to 180 Remix to my Wednesday night ministry duty. It was a great night of worship as Jon Morris came back t o lead worship for the HS/CC service. Jon has a unique anointing to lead student and adults in the presence of God. Worship was amaZing and aWesome as students entered into a Holy place of worship before God. Adam and Randa had their beautiful baby boy today - Ridgley, 9 lbs 8 ounces, 22" tall. Gosh - this boy is almost as tall as me. My twin sister Kelley is excited. She made Grandma before I made Grandpa. That's Ok - that makes me feel younger. Monday - biweekly day off 01/16/2012
I am off work every other Monday. At DTC we work flex hours, working 9 hours a day for 9 days and then we are off the 10th day. I love it and call it Bonus coverage. Kortni had a pair of shoes and boots that needed to have the heel tips replaced. I took these to the local shoe repair place for repair. The shoe repair shop called later in the afternoon and said the shoes and boots were ready. Now - that is customer service, same day service. I also picked up a replacement cable converter from Cox. Our second cable convertor box went out from a recent temporary power outage. Kellie had to go to the hospital after work because her Dad had not been eating his meals. Kellie sent me a text earlier and said it look like her dad was going downhill a little. Kellie is a great daughter and she is taking care of her daddy. I check my company e-mail periodically on my iPhone when I am off work. I replied to some e-mails that needed my attention and worked on one project for a Regional Vice President. | it's me - KirkLove people - love to help people - love to make things better for people.
